John Boyega to star in The Book Of Eli prequel show

The original creative team behind the 2010 post-apocalyptic film The Book of Eli has reunited for a hot new idea, The Book of Eli. But this time. it’s a TV show. According to Deadline, the series is still on sale to “select premium buyers,” but will be written by original author Gary Whitta and directed by original directors Albert Hughes and Allen Hughes (aka the Hughes Brothers). will serve as executive producer. . According to Deadline, the TV show will be set 30 years before the events of the movie, which, in Eli’s canon, will take place during or just after a nuclear war (or whatever) that destroyed the country. It seems likely, then, that this prequel series would be about how Eli gets his copy of this book (and maybe why there don’t seem to be any other copies of the Bible anywhere else in the wasteland, though that is sort of touched on in the original movie).
