The Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Young Avengers Unite in Star-Studded Fan Art

A new fan poster sees the MCU’s younger heroes band together as the Young Avengers. The conclusion of the Infinity Saga not only ended a massive story that had been building for over a decade, it also saw the deaths of some beloved heroes, and the surviving heroes are aging and no longer as driven or motivated as they once were – a topic Nick Fury covers at length in Secret Invasion. With many of the original Avengers dead and reaching the end of their storylines, it opens up even more gaps for the young and exciting heroes the MCU built in Phases 4 and 5. A fan poster recently shared on Instagram by user @iman.vellani shows young heroes teaming up to form the MCU Young Avengers team. Marvel Comics’ Young Avengers is a group of teenage heroes with ties to the original Avengers, founded by a younger version of the powerful Kang the Conqueror named Nathaniel Richards. The poster features 10 young superheroes as part of the MCU Young Avengers team, including comic book-based characters like Kate Bishop and Cassie Lang. Some characters are non-canon but important to future MCU projects, such as Riri Williams and Peter Parker. Check out the full poster below:

How The MCU Is Setting Up A Young Avengers Project

The Marvel Young Avengers

Many of the MCU projects following the Infinity Saga feature new young heroes or spiritual successors to popular Avengers, suggesting that a Young Avengers project is in the works. The first Phase 4 release, WandaVision, introduced Wanda’s sons Billy and Tommy, who have similar powers to Wanda and her brother Pietro. In the comics, these boys become Wiccan and Speed, core members of the Young Avengers team. In WandaVision, Billy and Tommy die with the Hex, but Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness proves that they actually exist in another world, expanding the MCU’s multiverse. It’s quite possible that she will reappear in a crossover.

In addition to Wiccan and Speed, other notable characters who could potentially join the Young Avengers team include Hawkeye’s Kate Bishop, Clint Barton’s dart-throwing apprentice; Ms. Marvel’s Kamala Khan, a mutant obsessed with Captain Marvel who discovers her own hidden superpowers; and Multiverse Hopper’s America Chavez, who trains to be a sorceress after being saved by Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Other young heroes also make small but notable appearances, including as Kid Loki from Loki and T’Challa’s son from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever; and She-Hulk: The Lawyer, in which Cassie Lang dons an Ant-Man suit just like her father Scott. Both Cassie and Kid Loki have ties to Kang the Conqueror, with Cassie helping to defeat one of his subspecies in Qwantumania and Kid Loki being exiled by the TVA at the End of Time while working for Kang’s subspecies in Loki. With America’s ability to travel across the multiverse, the three will likely form a Young Avengers team to defeat Kang and bring in other young heroes to fight alongside them. Avengers: Kang Dynasty would be a parallel to when the original Avengers first worked together in The Avengers, and would be a great opportunity for the MCU to form an official team with these heroes.
