Indiana Jones 5 Will Lose At Least $100 Million At The Box Office

Indiana Jones and the Clockwork of Fate was a huge disappointment at the box office, and a new report reveals how many million dollars the film will lose. Directed by James Mangold, the fifth and seemingly final film in the Indiana Jones franchise sees Harrison Ford dress up as the epitome of archeologist for the ultimate adventure. However, the film received mixed reviews from critics and has really struggled to gain a foothold at the box office since its release in late June. Now, following the poor Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny‘s box office performance, Variety reports that the film may end up losing around $100 million during its theatrical run. With a budget of around $300 million and marketing costs of at least $100 million, the sequel’s box office haul of $375 million is a fairly disastrous result.

The Witcher’s ratings dropped sharply during season 3, but the 60% drop may not have been solely due to Cavill’s departure. The Witcher season 2 itself was controversial, as the second part deviated from Andrzej Sapkowski’s original novel and ignored some of the biggest problems with season 1. It received good reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, with the general public finding the second season a dud for not living up to the standards of the original. The first season was the most popular. This critical trend continued into The Witcher season 3, which faced even harsher criticism than its predecessor. Audience reviews on Rotten Tomatoes criticized the new episodes as chaotic and straying too far from the books. The increased focus on Ciri was not well received by audiences, even as the series is ultimately working towards a greater destiny for the character. Such issues only get worse, especially when a new Geralt appears in town. But it’s hard to imagine the older version of the character being able to save The Witcher after two straight failed attempts.
