Everything We Know About Blue Beetle 2
After the release of Blue Beetle by DCU, the question naturally arises whether there will be a sequel that will continue Jaime Reyes’ adventures and his new life as a superhero. Starring Xolo Maridueña in the title role and directed by Jaime Reyes, Blue Beetle was touted as the first hero of the new DCU dreamed up by DC studio bosses James Gunn and Peter Safran. Therefore, it seems likely that a sequel will be developed. Directed by Ángel Manuel Soto, Blue Beetle focuses on the origins of Jaime Reyes, who comes into contact with an alien scarab and bonds with Reyes, before transforming into an alien suit capable of creating all kinds of weapons and defenses. Jaime, together with his whole family, gains new abilities thanks to the scarab and involuntarily becomes the new superhero of the DC Universe. But after Blue Beetle takes on a new identity, you have to wonder what happens next.

As we make this movie, we can’t help but wonder where he’s going to go.” As long as “Blue Beetle” is a box office success, it seems like director Soto is planning two sequels to conclude the story of Jaime Reyes and the entire trilogy. With over 10 different shows and movies in development for the new universe, it is hard to say where Blue Beetle 2 will fit in. However, one would imagine that if the first Blue Beetle is a huge success, a sequel would probably be prioritized and would be released within the next year or two.

As for the plot of Blue Beetle 2, it makes sense that the sequel will see Jaime Reyes adapt to his new status quo as a superhero while also learning how to deal with the alien Beetle. Additionally, the legacy of the previous two Blue Beetles may be further explored, with Blue Beetle already confirmed to play a role in this first film. Once the new DCU begins, it’s also possible that Blue Beetle will start interacting with other heroes. This includes Booster Gold, a superhero from the future who is best friends with Ted Kord’s Blue Beetle (though he has worked with Jaime before). Booster is also getting his own HBO Max series, so maybe Blue Beetle will make an appearance. As long as the first “Blue Beetle” does well at the box office, there’s a good chance of “Blue Beetle 2.”
