Assessing Batman’s Anti-Green Lantern Strategy: Zero Chance of Success

Not all of Batman’s famous contingency plans are successful, as evidenced by the fact that Batman’s plan against Green Lantern has no chance of succeeding. Batman’s brilliant idea to defeat Green Lantern is to use a weapon that Batman has no experience with and that this Green Lantern has been fighting with for almost his entire career. When the entire Earth was taken over by the Crime Syndicate, the Justice League was banished from Earth and Batman was the only survivor. When he has to face evil versions of the entire League, Batman begins to make contingency plans to defeat them, as seen in Forever Evil 4 by Geoff Johns, David Finch, Richard Friend, Sonja Auerbach and Rob Lee. When faced with the evil version of Green Lantern, Power Ring, Batman takes the yellow ring from the Sinestro Corps, which is actually a terrible idea.

Batman’s Plan to Use a Sinestro Corps Ring Absolutely Backfires

Exploring

Batman has contingency plans based on various weapons and ideas, but it is impossible for Batman to train with all of them. Lantern rings are given to certain people who have spent the most time in the universe. It is certainly not easy to get them, and even harder to train with them. Hal Jordan has been training with a Green Lantern ring since he became a superhero, but Batman relies mainly on sheer willpower to defeat the power ring, and he loses almost immediately. Batman’s anti-Green Lantern plan makes absolutely no sense when you think about it. To defeat Green Lantern, Batman plans to use a weapon he has no experience with against an opponent who is highly trained in the use of that weapon. This is not really a good plan, but it gets even worse when Batman uses a Yellow Lantern ring to fight Power Ring. Batman soon accidentally summons Sinestro. Sinestro is the main villain in the Green Lantern story and the leader of the Sinestro Corps, who all use yellow power rings. Sinestro bluntly says he was summoned to Earth to retrieve the ring that Batman carelessly used. So not only would Batman not be able to defeat Green Lantern, he would likely summon powerful villains that Batman would not be able to defeat.

Batman Could Never Defeat Green Lantern with This Plan

Batman has had some very good contingency plans over the years, such as overloading Superman’s powers by making his skin transparent and making Aquaman water repellent. But using a yellow power ring against Green Lantern is definitely not the best plan Batman has ever come up with. While fans like to point out that Batman’s fights with super-powered characters often don’t end well for the Dark Knight, there is a zero percent chance that Batman will beat Green Lantern, at least with his current plan.
